Outdoor education

Students Outdoors

All secondary students participate in a camping experience designed to introduce them to the world outside the school, broaden their education, encourage bonding and inspire their relationship with God.

In the past, Year 7 and 8 students have travelled to South West Rocks, Telegraph Point Mountain Bike Club and to Jasper's Creek (Mr Seaview) to experience “roughing it” by camping in tents. They also work together in groups to develop menus and cook the group’s meals.

At each camp, the unique aspects of the environment are utilised to help reinforce teaching in subjects such as first aid, art and geography.

  • Year 9 Bush Camp – 3 days in the Werrikimbee Ranges near Port Macquarie
  • Year 10 Service Camp – a week at Wee Waa serving the Namoi Valley CS community
  • Year 11 Ski Trip to the Snowy Mountains – 1 week
  • Year 12 HSC Study Camp Lismore – 2 days

Student service
