The Heritage Christian School community would like to pay tribute to Zac - a courageous, passionate, dedicated, fun-loving and amazing young man, who dedicated his life to telling anyone who would listen, about Jesus. Due to a tragic accident on 30 November, his life was cut short.
Our staff, students and families will always remember Zac and we will miss seeing him on Wednesdays, when he would come in at lunchtime and spread the love and word of God with our students.
You were an inspiration and motivation to many - we will miss you!
Year 10 Progression Celebration
Fri, 6 December
Our Year 10 students will be celebrating the completion of Year 10 and their progression onto their HSC years. Students have the opportunity to dress up (smart/casual) and there will be an assembly and light luncheon from 12 noon in the Creative Arts Centre (Woolshed). Attendance MUST be registered (and paid) at the School Office.

Duke of Edinburgh (Bronze & Silver Awards)
NZ Hike/Bike Trip

14 students from Years 9 & 10 will be hiking and biking in New Zealand for 8 days, as their final qualifying exploration journey for either their Bronze or Silver Awards. We pray they have an awesome time!

Our Year 12 Graduation Ceremony will be held at the Uniting Church in Port Macquarie, commencing at 5:30pm. Dinner will be afterwards at The Mercure rooftop restaurant (concluding at 11pm)

Our Years 9 & 10 Duke of Edinburgh Award & PASS students will be undertaking a 2 day training camp which involves two separate groups (one hiking and one mountain bike riding) through the Bago Forest on fire trails. This is also a training camp for the proposed New Zealand qualifying expedition at the end of term.

The Canberra Trip for our Year 5 & 6 students is almost upon us and we have some very excited students around our school!
Students will be visiting some of our capital's national treasures, including the Museum, Library, War Memorial, overseas Embassies, Australian Institute of Sport...just to name a few. Throw in a day at the snow and they will all be having an awesome time! We can't wait to hear their stories and see the photos that they take - have fun Year 5 & 6!

Senior Snow Trip

We have a number of Year 11 & 12 students venturing to the snowfields for a week on Saturday, 10 August. By the looks of the forecasts, they are in for some serious snow! We can't wait to see the photos and hear the stories when they return - we pray they have an awesome time!

Athletics Carnival (K-12)

This is a full-day event, with Kindy to Year 2 taking part in their own special events on the day. Students are encouraged to wear their House Colours, but no aerosols, spraycans or permanent markers are to be taken to school. No singlets, thongs or inappropriate logos/text shirts. Please remember water bottles and hats! There will be a sausage sizzle, drinks & muffins for sale on the day.
Sea Acres Excursion

Students in Years 3 & 4 will be taking part in an exciting full-day excursion to Sea Acres, the National Park and Shelley Beach (for lunch). Please ensure your Permission Note for this activity is returned to school ASAP.

Due to a significant amount of floodwater in a number of areas across the school site, the school is being closed to student attendance on
MONDAY, 25 FEBRUARY
The school staff will attempt to keep parents informed throughout tomorrow as to what the situation will be on Tuesday. Tomorrow (Monday, 25 February) a decision will be made shortly after lunch and this will be communicated to parents via SCHOOL WEBSITE, radio station ABC and where the school has current mobile phone information for parents, via text message. If parents have any concerns regarding the situation for Tuesday, they can also contact the school after 12noon tomorrow. We apologise for the inconvience that this is going to cause our school families, however, the safety and well-being of your children is our highest priority.

ALL STUDENTS (Kindy - Yr 12) can wear their favourite pair of board shorts, their SPORTS SHIRT, and bring a GOLD COIN DONATION, if they wish to participate in this fundraiser for a very worthy cause - Surf Life Saving.

Our annual Swimming Carnival (Years 3 - 12) will be held the FIRST Thursday of Term 1 and is a full-day event (8:55am - 2:15pm). Students will be transported via coach (from and back to school) on the day. Permission Notes will be posted out to all families the week prior to this event, with all details.
Students are to wear either their House Colours OR Sports Uniform.

Duke of Ed (Bronze Award)

Ten of our Duke of Edinburgh students and 4 adult supervisors had a safe flight over to New Zealand yesterday. They have already completed 20klms of hiking on their first day and celebrated a birthday! We pray they all complete their qualifying hiking treks safely and make lasting memories while they are overseas.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

PASS and Duke of Ed students are participating in a Training Hike in the local State Forest, a camp out at Stoney Park and kayak paddle down the Hastings River. This trip is a qualifier for some students for their Bronze Award and training for other students who will be participating in their qualifying trip to New Zealand next week.

We invite students commencing Kindy & Year 7 in 2013, to our Orientation Day. Our prospective Kindy students will enjoy a fun morning (from 9:30am - 11am) and our Year 7 students will enjoy a full day of orientation from 9:30am to 3:00pm. Central Books, Book Fair @ Heritage Library

Our Library is hosting a Book Fair from Monday, 29 October to Thursday, 15 November.
The Opening Hours are: 8:30am to 4:00pm.

Isaac McLennan in Year 2!!
Isaac entered the Carpet Court Storybook Challenge Competition and has won the major prize! Isaac wrote a wonderful short story and has won $250 worth of books for himself, $1000 worth of books for school and a beautiful, colourful rug for the school.
Well done Isaac - what a wonderful acheivement!
"Fizzics" Science Show
Tuesday, 17 October
We have an exciting school "incursion" on 17 October which involves Kindy to Year 12. Different classes will attend different rooms throughout the school on the day with displays of Lego Robotics, Stars & Planets, Big Science Big Fun, and a Liquid Nitrogen Show. This day commences at 8:50am for ALL students and promises to be quite a show!
Family Portrait Fundraiser - CANCELLED -
Unfortunately we have had to cancel this proposed fundraiser due to a lack of bookings.
Term 4 Commences

On Monday, the first day of Term 4, there will be a Full School special assembly in the Woolshed (12noon to 12:45pm) to officially farewell our Year 12 students.
Whole School "MUFTI-DAY"

All students from Kindy through to Year 12 can come to school in casual clothes ("mufti") on the last day of school. Any student dressed in "mufti" must bring a gold-coin donation. This will be the last day for our Year 12 class of 2012 and all funds raised go towards their Graduation Dinner.
We farewell our Year 12 students - we will all miss you, but pray the best for your future!
